College/uni refectory interior design

Stourbridge college refectory:

"The college offers a range of places to get a bite to eat.  Each site has a refectory that is managed by our award winning catering team.  They offer a range of delicious hot and cold snacks, sandwiches, light lunches, meals and beverages in addition to vegetarian and healthy eating options – perfect for meeting up with friends when you need a snack between classes."
Our refectories have been awarded Gold Awards from the local Environmental Health Office and our catering staff have increased the range of healthy food choices on offer and introduced a traffic light system whereby students can easily identify red (unhealthy), amber (ok sometimes) and green (healthy)."

I like the simple colours in this design, it reaches out to the target audience of college students as it looks clean, relaxing and a nice place to relax and chill out with your friends and grab something to eat. It looks sophisticated with the 3 colour combo the simple design, i think this is good because when kids come up from school and into college i think they need a different and more grown up/sophisticated environment.
I think for our refectory we need to tone it down a little, make the signage simple yet effective like the interior of this refectory!

The Vista at bury college.

"The pizza and coffee shop is open outside the Beacon Centre and provides a canopy covered outdoor area for students to relax and socialise. The Coffee shop offers fresh Coffee, sandwiches, paninis and cakes and this new development adds to the college's existing cafe's and refectories."

I don't really like the design of this college's refectory as i think it is quite boring, however i like the purple colour as it looks quite modern and a nice colour to use. I don't like how the logo has the 'A' as a capital, i think it would look better just as 'Vista', i do quite like the name as it makes me think of 'visit' and is kind of like a welcoming word. It also reminds me of 'bicester' which is a big shopping centre.

Baker Refectory at Juniata college.

Baker Refectory is "All-You-Can-Eat," as long as guests remain in the dining room. We offer a variety of freshly prepared menu selections for breakfast, lunch and dinner, including fresh baked goods, soups, healthy entrees, vegan/vegetarian selections, made-to-order deli sandwiches, desserts, a salad bar and fresh fruit, along with daily "Smart Choice" selections, homemade pizza and hot grill favorites.

The colour scheme for this refectory is very simillar to the refectory at our college, with the bright colours and it is also a same kind of setting.
I do like the colour scheme as it gives off a friendly kind of student vibe. I also like how the walls are kept quite clear, i think we definatley need to get rid of all of the paper posters around the refectory because they look tacky!
